Andy started programming when she was a librarian back in the late 70s. She took home a self-study guide to the IBM System-32/34 and wrote the first computerized circulation system in the state of New Hampshire.

Andrew Eddie is the owner of a small web consultancy based near Toowoomba, Australia and co-owner of the product solutions company JXtended which makes several free and commercial extensions for Joomla. While originally a civil engineer, he moved into the web application development field in 2000. He was born in 1965 and now lives in France. He is currently an assistant professor of computer sciences at the University of La Rochelle (France, Europe). He passed his MA in 1989 and his Ph.D. in 1992. Don Gilbert has been working with Joomla since 2007. He became active in the community around 2011, asking and answering questions on the mailing lists. Jean-Marie was born a long time ago in France. He received a very classic education and got married a few times. Former news reporter from 1969 to 1985, wearing multiple hats (NHK TV, Gamma, freelance for many magazines), he focused on post-colonial conflicts (Africa, Middle-East, Central America) as well as social conflicts in Europe.

Mark started writing software in the 1970s on punch cards and, for 28 years, co-owned and ran a company that develops software for construction companies. During this time, he did everything from design and development to support, training, and documentation.

After retiring in 2007, Mark decided to learn more about open source software. After becoming the webmaster for a small non-profit organization, he discovered Joomla and started using version 1.5.2 in early 2008. He made the mistake of pressing the Help button and discovered that most of the help documentation hadn't been written yet. So he volunteered to write documentation and has continued to learn about Joomla and try to contribute to the project.

In the Joomla project, Mark is currently a Bug Squad Coordinator, a Development Coordinator, and the Administrator for the Joomla Student Outreach Program (JSOP). He has been a moderator on the forums, a member of the Documentation working group, and the Administrator for the 2009 Google Summer of Code program. He also has written four extensions.

Mark is especially interested in the area of automated testing using PHPUnit and Selenium. Mark has found the Joomla community to be incredibly friendly and welcoming and is excited about helping to make Joomla even better.

Marko's interest in computers started with the first release of the Commodore C64, but it switched fast to the first available IBM XT computer in mid 80's. Matt's web career formally began in 2000 when he joined a start-up venture in Connecticut. Nick Savov has been involved with Joomla for about two and a half years and web related work for only three years. Omar is currently the webmaster at Imperial Valley College (IVC) in Southern California. Peter has been working in the Joomla space since the Mambo days and then moving on to Joomla as the communities spilt. He started learning Joomla by reverse engineering templates and working out what made them tick. Ric, 30, of Kent, United Kingdom, is an IT manager and discovered Mambo in 2003 while looking for a corporate CMS. He now spends his time coding Open Source systems for companies that don't have large IT budgets. He says he is constantly in search of elegant solutions to coding problems, lives in the Object Orientated camp of coding and loves a good framework, Joomla! being his framework of choice. This comes from his corporate Java background which was soon dropped when PHP5 hit the servers. Ron Severdia is CTO of Metrodigi, a leading eBook company in the San Francisco Bay Area and has directed interactive branding projects—from websites and brand identities to interactive campaigns—for clients such as HP, Verizon, Electronic Arts, Yahoo!, Visa, Walmart.com, eBay, and Apple. His prior experience includes stints as a Senior Designer and then Creative Director at Young & Rubicam, DDB, Glow, and Landor Associates. Fluent in several languages, he worked for seven years in Europe, where he won a Euro-Effie award for his creative work with Schweppes.

Ron has been using Joomla since 2006 to build sites for companies, large and small, including a worldwide branding site for Citibank. He is a member of the Kunena Forum team and he authored the Using Joomla book for O'Reilly Media. He is the founder of the Joomla-based Shakespeare site, PlayShakespeare.com.

Ruth has always been a passionate supporter of free and open source software, and came across Joomla! in the early days when asked to design a website during her time as IT Technician at a school, and the rest, as they say, is history! She now runs a business - Virya Technologies and Virya Software - which specialises in Open Source technologies including Joomla! website design, management and extension creation, and Linux server management. Her personal area of interest lies within search engine optimisation and helping websites to recover from poor SEO practices. Ruth also founded Joomla! User Group Suffolk and is on the team for Joomla!Day UK events.

When she's not in front of a computer screen she can be found lurking in the countryside assessing young people completing their Duke of Edinburgh's Expedition or hunting out geocaches. She's also training for ordination with the Triratna Buddhist Community and is a field hockey goalkeeper.

Sam, 20, of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, is the youngest member of the development team. He is currently studying IT and has been working with Mambo (now Joomla) since early 2004. His work came to the fore with the Google SOC and his update system, which will be further developed and included in Joomla. Sam also authors the JAuthTools project, which provides LDAP support for Joomla 1.0 and 1.5.

She has been building computers since 1987 and websites since the late 90s. She is the CEO of Magnolia Web Group which focuses on every angle of the web development arena using Joomla only. Sandra was the original admin of the Joomla People Portal and was on the CLT for one year. She is now the Full time Copy Editor, Designer, and Web Developer for the Jackson County Times newspaper.

Born 1969 his first computer was an Apple IIe in the early 80's. After moving to Sydney Australia, Shayne spent the first half of his working life in the music industry. In the mid 90's he moved into the IT industry working for tier one resellers and major PC companies including Gateway. After moving to Albany in Western Australia Shayne discovered open source and spent a year playing with the Nukes before discovering Mambo 4.0 and never looked back. Currently he is the Business Development Director for an IT consultancy and spends much of his spare time working on or around Joomla!.

Thomas Hunziker works in informatics for a Swiss telecommunication company. He started with Joomla! 1.5 around end of 2007 because the text editor wasn’t working anymore. About two years later he started writing his own extensions. From there it was a small step to help other users in the forums and also to fixing bugs. This is what he still loves doing, especially on the coding side of things.

Tim was born in 1969 and began programming stick figure games on a Commodore 64 in the early 80s. He has been developing for the web since 1994 and currently provides custom development and user interface design for clients ranging from IBM to small non-profits and advocacy groups.

Trijnie was born in Groningen, The Netherlands in 1971. Her first steps on the information highway started in 1996 and was immediately impressed by the information, design and structure of websites. After building her first personal website, she caught the design fever and started her own design and hosting business.

In 2001 she stumbled upon open source products and after being pleasantly surprised noticing that it was for free, she felt a deep respect for the generosity of the communities, (individuals coming from countries all over the world, working together) all sharing their knowledge, time and expertise without expecting anything in return.

Wendy has been a member of the Joomla community since 2005. She began volunteering as a moderator in the forums in 2006, eventually joining the Global Moderators and Forum Administrators team. In addition to her forum roles, Wendy has been on various teams such as the Community Workgroup, The Joomla Resources Directory team, and the marketing team. She has managed the Joomla Shop and served a 2 year term as an Open Source Matters Board Member from 2008 to 2010.

Born in 1967 in the Netherlands and currently living in Wijhe, Wilco started assembler programming as twelve year old whiz kid on a Tandy TRS 80. After years of being a programmer, then being a project manager, he finally became an IT manager. Wilco discovered Mambo when he was creating his own content management system and never lost focus after. He joined the Core Team as the Development Coordinator in September 2006 just to help make Joomla even better than it already is.
